This art is how it all started, sign painters doing commercial signage without computers or expensive software and plotters. It wasn't just fancy lettering on a sign or truck... we were sign artists. They used information given by their clients to create visual images related to their clients business. The thought process was vital to giving the public a reason to look at the signage they designed and painted. In the 80's as the computer was introduced sign shops began closing their doors as they couldn't compete with Vinyl. Those that hung on found their customers wanted that craftsman look rather than just the decal look. I was one of the few who stayed and have had a long run since opening the doors in 1976. Today I make a good living hand lettering almost anything, its quick and profitable. Take a look at a sample of the jobs I have done over the years with a little thought, a few paint brushes and a couple cans of paint.

A big part of this art included freehand pin stripe, added to the signage it can enhance any sign or vehicle.
