Theres a lot to be said about free hand skills when using the airbrush, stencils get a lot of attention. Thinking back to the good old days those of us who created airbrushed work didn't have store bought stencils, if a stencil were needed WE MADE THEM! The photos below were airbrushed using freehand techniques the fire is all freehand using no stencils whatsoever, the skull was hand drawn on a piece of paper ( and no image of a skull was used, I drew it from memory ) Years of doing this level of work is who I am. The classes I teach I cover this style of art, not copying someone elses art but creating art from memory.

Freehand airbrushing is where its at! Pure and simple, its how you make money... it sets you apart and gives you a customer base who return when they need creative art done.
